Cheese maker Henri Willig
Henri Willig has become a leading name in both cheese making and local tourism. Each year over a million people visit his four farmhouses, or Hoeves as they are known in Dutch, to see his demonstrations and hear his talks about the traditional craftsmen who make wooden shoes and cheese. He also demonstrates how cheese is made. The authentic Dutch atmosphere of the farms, the wealth of information available and the opportunity to taste artisanal products has made the Hoeves very popular tourist destinations. Jacobs Hoeve is within walking distance of Hoeve Chapeau, and can be visited free of charge. |
